Relevance. The modern world economy is going through a period of ‘sanctions wars’ between countries waged openly or covertly international institutions, with Russia and Iran serving as vivid examples the first second cases, respectively. In this connection, it increasingly useful to analyze economic development under sanctions in order gain new insights into how function changing reality. Research objective. study aims comparatively examine macroeconomic during comparative statistical dynamics analysis main macro indicators, including growth rate value base-period GDP, consumption expenditures, gross capital formation, export, import, etc. theoretical terms, description an instrument for harming chosen secondary aim work. Data methods. based on methodology comparisons data that can be used assess impact various development. Results. uncertain confirmed. empirical collected over twenty-year period, reveals no clear connection indicators imposition (both Russia), which confirmed by available time series. Although some industrial areas, difficulties were observed. addition, more stringent 2012, Iranian experienced significant decline, followed its recovery adaptation period. Conclusions. A counter-sanctions policy requires integrative cooperation targeted countries, opens up frontiers collaboration Russia. New forms labor division should created eliminate possibility using against others.
